Potential customers see your testimonials and see people who are just like them who are happy with your product, and that serves to inspire trust in you. So how do you go about gaining great testimonials for your product, and what needs to be done to make your testimonials more effective? What you are about to learn are several excellent methods to give you good testimonials.

What is typically done by all businesses is they usually ask for a testimonial. You know very well that if you never ask for anything, then chances are you will not receive it. By law, you cannot use anything until you have permission from person supplying the feedback, and so contact them and try to secure that permission. It all depends on the market and people you are dealing with, but most of the time people will not have a problem with this request. However, don’t forget to ask for their permission before using any feedback publicly because if not, it may cause problems.

There’s something about video that makes it more believable – probably because moving pictures make more sense and make a bigger evidence of something. It is common knowledge with experienced marketers that video testimonials blow all the rest out of the water. It should go without saying that this format has the potential to do much more for you, and the reasons for it are very clear. As for the credibility factor, just do not use someone who is not telling the truth. We realize that most people will not bother with going through all that trouble, so that is why you usually do not see a lot of them used.

You have to respect the choices of your customers who are not interested in giving you a testimonial; in fact, you will find that most will not do it. So instead of directly asking your customers for a testimonial, why not ask them to share their story? It is impossible to know what people will do until you give them a chance. When you tell them about the story you want, just mention that it is best to talk about certain things that really stand out, etc. Try to avoid coming off like you are telling them what to write, though. Keep in mind that you still need to ask for permission to use the story.

There is a lot you can do that will work to effectively provide testimonials for your business, and you simply need to put them to practice.
