Employment Opportunity To Teach Abroad In Korea
The economic and financial arrangement of the world is changing. This has been progressing steadily for some time now, despite attempts of governments and populations of many countries to ignore it. There has been a lack of political will to deal with problems and threats to economic security in many parts of the world. Many of these countries are have English speaking populations, who now have needed opportunities to better themselves both personally and financially, if they will investigate this chance to teach abroad in Korea.
While economic opportunities may be diminished or nonexistent for some of these nationals in their home country, as native English speakers they can find opportunity abroad. Countries in Asia and South America are in a growth cycles. Their economies are prospering and they see the advantages of developing conversational English skills. This is the international language for business and commerce.
There is no good reason to waste valuable time waiting for the return of the past. Needed reforms that will restore solvency and opportunity to prosper, are likely years away yet. As an individual there is little you can do to influence the actions of government, but there is no need to be at the mercy of negligent officials. This a wonderful time for unemployed workers, those that are not content with their current station in their home country, or newly graduated students, to seek greener pastures teaching abroad for a time.
Teaching is a pursuit that can be very rewarding, in many ways more so for the teacher than even for the students. Here ambitious, eager, and respectful students can be found.
These positions are an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills that will be invaluable in the new international economy. Experience living and working abroad and becoming fluent in another language will look good to prospective employers on your resume, and may open doors of opportunity that would otherwise be closed to you. This is your chance to set yourself apart from other job seekers.
Typical requirements for obtaining one of these positions are citizenship in an English speaking country, a passport, and possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any field. No teaching certification or prior experience is necessary.
These employers will be looking for native English speakers only, and some may only hire applicants falling in certain age categories, twenty to fifty-five, for example. They will want applicants without criminal histories. Contracts are offered for ten to twelve month terms, often with a one month pay bonus for completion of a one year contract.
Applications are made on-line and hiring decisions are typically made within two weeks. Decisions are based upon review of your resume and documentation and telephone interviews. Ideal candidates will be friendly, personable, and able to motivate students to learn English. They will command respect in the classroom.
As a teacher you will be working independently, so you will need to be self motivated. Instructional materials will be provided, however.
