Each day, we work out something fresh to contribute to the overall subject of science.

The joy and exciting nature of science is what leads many to pursue it; the number of experiments it’s possible to try are virtually never ending.

Even though science is a great subject and many of us love being around the laboratory, it can be hazardous if you’re not careful so below are several tips to keep you safe in the lab.

The very first thing you should remember #to do# whilst inside a science laboratory would be to constantly wear eye protection. A little drop of a chemical can cause loss of sight so always wear your safety goggles.

It’s also recommended to wear such things as gloves, along with other safety clothing, such as a lab coat or apron, depending on what experiments you may be conducting.

Be extremely careful around chemical substances. Try to not breathe them in or let them touch bare skin. In addition, keep the chemicals at the temperature they are stored at unless that is a part of the experiment.

Because fire is a large component of many experiments, it’s important to be cautious around it, keeping your distance and tying up hair and keeping clothes out of the way by rolling up your sleeves.

Glass can break and cut you extremely easily, so remember to exercise caution & keep a gentle grip on any glass objects you use.

As you have perhaps already guessed, never run in a science lab. Not only can running be very risky, but it can also cause all kinds of problems in the lab.

Excluding explicit instruction, avoid mixing chemicals. You do not know very well what kinds of chemicals will react violently, that may result in explosions that may hurt people terribly.

If you have a fire in your experiment, make sure you locate the shut off valve before you begin, so you can stop it at any time. Keep the fire escape in mind as well.

So don’t forget these tips to help keep you safe inside the science lab.
