Conserving Funds With Voice over ip

February 21, 2011 | Author: Justin Reynolds | Posted in VOIP

When it comes to technology the general rule is that the longer the technology is out the cheaper it becomes. Things like computers can be had for hundreds of dollars, HDTV’s used to be in high $1000′s but now can be had in the mid $100′s. Along that line of thinking you would hope that your phone service would also become cheaper with time. While the major service providers have added better deals and features, generally the price of a phone is still kind of expensive unless you “bundle package” the deal with a few other services. It seems unfair that so few companies control the vast majority of services in the internet age. In order to pay the $39.99 dollars Cox Communications offers you also need to sign up for their internet and Tv packages. If you do not want all of their services than you have to email them for a quote. Seems shady. Thankfully technology and good ole America competition has created a new industry that is as competitive as any other industry in the world. VoIP (voice over internet protocol) is a phone service that allows you to have all the functionality of the major phone providers for a percentage of the cost.
