Glass Ceiling Still Exists for Ladies at Work
In the U.S, female employees merit equivalent privileges, pay, protection, and benefits as their male opposite numbers. But even in 2012, this is not always the case. Plain cases of discrimination occur when a woman isn’t paid the same as a man for a similar job. But there also are less obvious types of gender discrimination which are also illegal. It takes place when certain jobs aren't even available to girls, and these customarily entail the highest level positions in an enterprise. – that Outback denied ladies equal opportunities for advancement
– that women could not get promoted to the higher-level profit-sharing management positions in the restaurants and
– that women were denied favorable job assignments (particularly kitchen management experience which was required for workers to be thought about for the top management jobs).
As a result of standing up for their federally protected rights, the ladies won $19 million in damages.
